MUSTMAG..............Artistic Director Ruthanne Ankney has won a New Edge Mix grant. She will be presenting Mustmag in October at CEC 25th and 26th. Both performances starting at 8:00. Ruthanne will portray the plucky Young Appalachian girls as she travels through a mystical world of giants, witches, kings, a helpful fox and evil sisters. This enchanting tale is set deep in the rural Appalachia. This dazzling production will combine some old fashion magic and some new adveturous twists. The story will unfold with fantastic shadow puppetry, movement, Appalachian music and Ruthanne playing on her new love...her mandolin. Ruthanne has spent the summer immersed in Appalachian studies. She was also a part of the Swannanoa Gathering in Asheville, NC. She studied Unaccompanied Appalachian singing with Shelia Adams. Old time music with Ron Penn and Ginny Hawker.
